Queer Youth Program

The Center provides two weekly facilitated discussion groups for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth in a safe, affirming environment, as well as a weekly support group facilitated by Center Counseling Program staff specifically for transgender youth.

Queer Youth Groups

Wednesdays, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

For LGBT or questioning youth ages 13 through 18
The group focuses on positive mental health, techniques that enable self-help, positive social networking, healthy recreational activities, positive messages about gender and sexual orientation, self-worth and personal dignity.

Fridays, 8 to 9 p.m.

For LGBT or questioning youth ages 16 through 20
A safe and welcoming place where youth can gather for peer-facilitated discussions, activities and outside events in a safe, affirming environment regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

 

 
Transgender Youth Support Group

A weekly discussion and support group for transgender youth in a safe, culturally affirming environment. The group is facilitated by Center Counseling staff members trained in gender and sexual identity issues under the supervision of licensed psychotherapists.
