The Sacramento LGBT Center’s Services & Why They Matter 

Across the country, LGBTQIA+ individuals face growing challenges, especially as federal funding for crucial services is being cut. Now more than ever, your support is essential to ensuring that our most vulnerable community members have access to life-saving resources. 

Housing & Mental Health Support 

With rising housing insecurity and increasing barriers to mental health care, LGBTQIA+ individuals are at greater risk than ever before. The Sacramento LGBT Center provides emergency and transitional housing programs, ensuring that young adults who have faced discrimination and instability have a safe place to stay, meals, transportation, and the support they need to transition to independent living. Our mental health services offer counseling, peer support groups, and therapist referrals to ensure that every individual has access to the care they need in a safe, affirming environment. With funding cuts threatening these vital services, your donation directly contributes to keeping these life-saving programs available. 

Advocacy & Economic Empowerment 

The fight for LGBTQIA+ rights is ongoing, and access to economic opportunities remains a critical barrier for many in our community. The Center’s Advocacy Team works tirelessly to provide legal guidance, policy education, and grassroots mobilization to protect LGBTQIA+ rights and influence meaningful legislative change. Meanwhile, our Economic Justice Program (EJP) helps LGBTQIA+ individuals, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, secure employment through job fairs, networking opportunities, and career coaching. With uncertain funding and increasing threats to our rights, your support helps sustain these critical programs and ensures our community continues to thrive. 

Community Building & Belonging 

A strong, connected community is essential for resilience. The Sacramento LGBT Center fosters belonging through programs like LGBTQIA+ Senior Services, peer-led support groups, and events such as Sacramento Pride, Q-Prom, and the Chosen Family Feast. These gatherings create safe spaces for celebration, connection, and support—ensuring that no one in our community feels alone. Your donation keeps these essential spaces open and thriving, even as external funding sources become less reliable.
